All SOS Intl EOPS online training requires simulation exercises to be completed in order to receive credit for each course. Below are tips to getting the most out of using simulation exercise and trouble-shooting steps if the suggested tips do not fix your problems.

The following are some tips for getting the most out of these simulations:

1.)  Disable pop-up blocker.  Simulation exercises will not open properly if a pop-up blocker is enabled.  To disable the pop-up blocker in Internet Explorer, go to “Settings”, "Internet Options", and then select the "Privacy" tab.  Make sure to uncheck the box that says "Turn on Pop-up Blocker".  This will ensure that the simulation exercises will pop-up when selected. 


2.) 
Use Internet Explorer 9/10 or Google Chrome to access these exercises.  You may not have administrative access to download and install new programs or updates. Please contact your IT Department for assistance with installing a web browser.

The following is a trouble-shooting step if you still have problems using simulations:

  • Disable the Firewall.  In some rare cases, your computer’s or company’s firewall may be blocking the simulator website.  If you are asked to log into the simulator when you attempt to launch a simulation exercise, your firewall needs to be disabled.  Your IT Department will need to disable your firewall or add the simulator website to a list of trusted websites.

Because the simulator is not hosted by SOS, it may be necessary to escalate any issues to PowerData, the company who hosts and maintains the simulation exercises.
